IJAMSVILLE, MD (MarketWatch) -- The GS got a new 4.6-liter V8 in 2008 and while some may debate if that's the way to go in this day and age, few will argue that it is one of the most refined engines on the market today.
It packs 342 horsepower at 6,200 rpm with 339 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. Out on the highway it is a virtually silent runner except when one wants to exercise it. Then it makes a wonderful roar that lets you know this sedan can get up and boogie.

Lexus puts zero to sixty at 5.4 seconds with top speed at the track at 149 MPH. It will do the quarter mile in 13.9 seconds. Since the next question you are going to ask is about gas mileage the GS460 is rated at 17-24 miles per gallon by the EPA. We got 21 in a wide variety of driving, including a delight afternoon romp to this little town in north central Maryland.
