Well I tried to talk myself out of it, but I had to go to the dealer this morning. 717 was clunking, had too much play in the driveshaft(felt like), and my idle wasn't right, so in she goes. I'm now waiting for the call back. I guess just hope for the best.

I have been having the same problem with the clunking drivetrain. I took it in and the dealer played dumb and said he couldn't find any noise. I took it home and have played with it until I can make it clunk all the time. Get going about 1200 rpm in second or third and goose the gas a little and it will klunk like it is falling off the car! Now I will be taking it back in on Wed.

Let me know how your dealer responds so we can compare notes. I know it is a new transmission, but no production car should klunk like this!

It ain't hoopy, ya dig?

Well got 717 back yesterday, everything checked out great. The car does behave differently since I got it back. They did a computer check, checked the fingers, everything. The dealer service was excellent. They couldn't find anything wrong. We did come up with something however, it only does it in high humidity. FORD took the asbestis(spelling?)out of the clutch, brakes, etc and other cars have been doing it too. It did rain just last week, so I don't know?
