"The only disconnect is that besides the Dark Highland Green from the movie, marketers insisted that the Bullitt also be available in True Blue and Black. C'mon guys; racing Ferraris are red . . . Grand Prix Mercedes are Silver . . . Steve drove a GREEN car!"

Well, I didnt buy the DHG because of Steve's car, it was because it was the best looking color of the three!

I have to chime in on that note..DHG maybe ok for some folks..but I have never really like the color green. I opted for the black..even though it sucks the most to take care of. Green has the heritage of the movie..but it does not say mean like a black car.

As I've said before, "You'd be a fool to buy a new car in a color you didn't like." DHG just looks like a truck/SUV color to me, not something I want on my Stang.

I have to agree that the black looks the best, very mean!! Besides, Steve is not driving mine...

I have to give them credit in this article, for not repeating the propaganda about 265hp, it says they produce at least 270, and that is more like it!!

Sorry, but I had to go with something other than DHG. I didn't feel like buying a Mustang that looked like a mid-90's "forest green" Taurus, Explorer, or Caravan...

I have to step in and say that all the colors look great - I wish they had produced it in Yellow. But no matter what they produced it in I went with the green because of the original. I also think it is the best looking green paint I've ever seen. And I have yet to look at mine and see a truck or minivan because of the color. Black is just too common for me. I've yet to see the True Blue.

Good to see you all have a passion for your BULLITT's. Good to see you all exchanging your thoughts about this BULLITT passion. Having interaction with each other 'it's a good thing' and the common thread that binds us all together is our passion for our BULLITT's. Color makes no difference until you try to convince others it does and again you black and blue guys are at it again. Guys and girls if you can not understand why Ford 'Team Mustang' came up with the idea for the BULLITT and got Warner Brothers and Chad McQueen to buy into it, not to mention the big bucks Ford paid to both to make the BULLITT possible, I have a bridge to sell you. Why was the concept BULLITT as seen at the 2000 Los Angles Auto Show not black or blue? I put it to you ... DHG is the color that makes the BULLITT a BULLITT and Ford felt the same way when it stated the DHG will only come on the BULLITT and no other Mustang. Those commitments by Ford makes for a strong statement, I will let you figure out for yourself what Ford was trying to say, no mater what color you bought.
Oh yes! Only time will tell which color will be the rarest, but 20 years from now the 1968 Mustang GT 390 fastback used in the Hollywood Movie 'BULLITT' will still be Highland Green and all who see the movie will still know ... if it not DHG it's not a BULLITT. on your six!
