Hi Northern Bullitt,

I did some research on the
New 5W-20 oil requirements
Here is the link
It is not just the oil weight but a new standard.

</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE> THANKS MIDLIFECRISIS! I was not aware of the friction modifiers, will probably stay with 5w20 for 3 oil changes and then switch to mobil 1. What really sells me on mobil 1 is the flash point of 470 compared to 5w20 whitch is 200, what a differance!

Why would you use 5W20...My manual says to use the 5w30 grade. Has there been a chage??

look at your oil fill cap also 2075
Don't think the 2001 manual says 5W-30, or else you got a "misprint"

Make sure your comparing the correct numbers on Flash point. Some are in Celsius and others are in Fahrenheit. That could be the difference in the 200 vs 470.

It is not just the 5W-20 Viscosity but you need to have oil that is meeting the new Ford Specs WSS-M2C153-H .

Click here for links for information about the new WSS-M2C153-H spec.
