Here is yet another one to add to the list:

I saw a brand new (still had dealer plates) Black GT, with Bullitt badge AND steel fuel door! Obviously was a GT (body style, wing). Some lady was driving, and I repeatedly drove up next to her to see what was up, but she refused to look.
So here is my question, was this car bought from the dealer like this, and, if so, do you think it was advertised as a Bullitt to some naive customer?

BTW, I also saw a convertible, mineral grey (just Bullitt badge) a while back-also had dealer plates.

Some dealers -will- do this...
Add $200 in parts, charge $500 for the so-called package.

I'd guess the GT owner bit. The salesman probably sold her on the idea that it looks just like a Bullitt, but is $3000 cheaper.

No way--not unless that salesperson (and/or dealership management) is interested in jailtime for fraud. To add, I doubt Ford would take too kindly to this practice and probably pull their ability to sell Ford products...

It's not fraud if the buyer requests it or knowingly agrees to it. I agree that Ford wouldn't be to happy with a dealer making a wanna-be Bullitt, but if the customer wanted it I bet some dealers would do it for the bucks.

My dealer was willing to have a wing put on our Bullitt when we put in the order a year ago. We like wings and sortof tossed the idea around when ordering ours and then the dealer would put a wing on it after delivery. We thought about it for 10 minutes and then thought, "NOT"!

This was not a bullitt with a wing. It had the GT C pillar, side scoops, chrome frame around mustang in front grill, and GT side faring (piece below doors). It was a GT with Bullitt badge and fuel door, that's it!

The only thng my dealer offered was the teflon coating and undercoating. Which reminds me I need to make an appointment for 851 to have the teflon applied again (got a 3 year deal). I also finally hit 3,000 mi. Keep in mind I work from home so driving 851 is for pleasure!

I am quite sure it is a fake if she would not recognize you. I mean really, have you ever seen another Bullitt owner on the road that would not talk or even look at you?
