When you bought your Bullitt, was it with the intention of holding onto it because of it's limited production and history with the 68 and the movie? Or are you planning on letting it go someday down the road and do you think it will turn out to be a profitable
investment that was a blast to drive?

I bought it based upon the movie heritage, but more importantly, because it is a limited production with Bullitt SPECIFIC modifications. If it was a GT with badging, I probably would have passed.

Also, it is a rare car now and will only be more so in the future. My son is 11 and, if he is responsible, I will probably let him drive it when he is a senior is HS. I bet he'll have the only one.

A profitable investment? Who knows. I would say the odds are against it. However, it should hold value better than a std. GT.

I bought mine as an in between Saleen car. I traded my 99 Saleen for this car due to 0% financing and since I am going to drive a Mustang it ought to be a cool one. My plan is to hold on to it until the 2004 MY comes out. Then I will trade it in on a new one.

Had a black 2000 GT auto. With 0% and Ford Z-plan I wanted a 01 GT 5speed. I got the Bullitt because...
1. I could afford it.
2. Only 8cyl w/ 5speed on the lot.
3. I like black sports cars.

Total.
______
I got more than had expected.

Unlike the 00, I LOVE this car.

I bought mine because I liked it. I was going to by a GT and my wife said get the Bullitt it may hold it's value better. I think the fact that she knew I really wanted the Bullitt had something to do with it. To answer your question I just wanted it and I plan to keep it a long time.

got to keep for two reasons.
1. 0% a piece of world history.(9-11-01)and only 22yrs old.
2. don't want to be "that guy" who'll be at a party 20yrs from now with a pot belly and 4 kids and driving a beat down chevy. telling storys to every guy about how he had this car back in the day, and then gave it up to have a family..that's why women get jobs now!!!! they can buy their stuff too!

Test drove a Bullitt first, then a Cobra. Both had 0.00% financing for 60 months. Initially bought the Cobra, was hooked on the DOHC Engine look, but the overall appearance of the Cobra was just bland compared to the Bullitt. NEXT DAY - Before I picked up the Cobra I called my salesman back and said that if he had a DHG Bullitt I would buy it instead of the Cobra. He came back with "we only have it in Black". I said get it ready and the family and I will be right down to pick it up. Have'nt looked back since. Plan on keeping it for years to come.
