Dang if only I had taken the time to do what I said I was going to do, I would send you to the 08/09 archive for my write up. I guess I have something on my to do list. I have to take care of some family stuff tomorrow but I will actually do the cam install write up Thursday.

If you have any specific questions ask away, always happy to share what little knowledge I have!

EDIT: if you did it on an 01 the 08 will be easy!

Dang I started looking and I can't find my pictures right now. I did take the front cover off, I could have done the job without it but I wanted to MAKE SURE the chains didn't slip off the crank and the best way for me to do that was to be able to see them. I set the crank key way between the 9 and 10 o'clock position and then tweaked it back and forth till I had the least amount of valve spring tension on the cam then, one chain at a time I use (safety wire) to tie the chain tightly in place! marked the cam sprocket to the chain in (overkill) 5 different spots! LOL break the sprocket and phaser loose then slowly a little at a time loosen the cam caps until all the valve spring tension is gone, finish pulling the sprocket and then reverse the procedure. The cam followers are a pain to keep in place but not too bad. Again taking the front cover off was not absolutely needed but with only 7,000 on the clock I wanted to make DANG sure I didn't destroy my engine. To me it was worth the extra work. If you pull the front cover just make sure you number your bolts, I didn't on mine and had to play musical bolts to get them all back in the right spots, next car I did was a Thumper install and I numbered his (man that was easier)

As far as which is better I am about 10 HP behind what he is making (he has a JLT CAI which flows just a LITTLE better than ours does) but he complains about loosing his low end torque and that it affects his driving, I have not had that issue. So for my money I say the FRPP but there are many out there that have the Thumpers also that say it did not affect their drivability, so no help from me on the decision making!
