March 29 -- Check out the CBS Nightly News with Katie Couric tonight for a segment about Cell Phones for Soldiers. The company I work for (ReCellular) recycles the phones for CPFS.

The charity was started by a couple of school kids in Massachusettes for the purpose of buying calling cards for our troops overseas. With the proceeds from recycling old cell phones and cash donations, they buy phone cards worth up to 60 minutes each in international calls. They send the cards to service members and their families or military units that place requests through the charity’s Web site. So far, they have raised over $1 Million dollars, and nearly 400,000 calling cards have shipped.
