I am new to these engines without plug wires,so I tried hooking up my timing light to the plug coil lead,12Volts I assume,and it worked! The light shows about 14 degrees at hot idle. Strange though is when you crack the throttle,the timing takes a sudden dive to 8 degrees,6 degree retard,but instanly comes right up on it's advance curve. Seems to be a quick curve. Will try to plot it out. However,I don't know how the computer changes it in different load and gear positions?
