A friend of mine sent me this:

Subject: Citgo changing name
Date: Sun, 15 Apr 2007 13:50:56 -0500

Diane Sawyer on ABC news interviewed the Venezuelan leader Chavez
just last week -- March 2007 He is so dangerous, and you can tell
he is thrilled to be selling oil to America and having a foot on
the throat of this country. He is something else. If you did not
hear the interview, the following was discussed and it is true.
They have all this money coming in and the majority of his own
people are living in poverty and he is so rich. He is best of
friends with Castro and Russian leaders. He told Diane Sawyer that
he was friends with all the world leaders, but President Bush is as
dumb as a 'donkey'.
CITGO CHANGING NAME...this is serious Americans...make sure you
read ..

NEWS FLASH:

Chavez is NOW getting a Russian Weapons Factory built by Putin.
The RUSSIANS are building an AK-47 Kalashnikov Assault Rifle
factory in
Venezuela , to give armament support to Communist Rebel groups
throughout
the Americas

Chavez NOW has IRANIANS operating his oil refineries in Venezuela
for him.
It is likely only a matter of time, if not already, before Chavez
has
Iranian built LONG RANGE missiles, with a variety of warhead types
aimed
at: Guess Who?

CITGO is NOW in the process of Changing Its Name to PETRO EXPRESS
due to
the loss of gasoline sales in the USA due to the recent publicity
of
ownership by Chavez of Venezuela.

Every dollar you spend with CITGO or PETRO EXPRESS gasoline will be
used against you, your basic human rights, and your freedoms. He
will start wars here in the Americas that will probably be the
death of millions of free people.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT because Chavez is starting to feel the loss
of revenue from his holdings. HE OWNS CITGO. This is a very
important move that everyone should be aware of.

ANNOUNCED JUST RECENTLY, CITGO, BEING AWARE THAT SALES ARE DOWN DUE
TO U.S.
CUSTOMERS NOT WANTING TO BUY FROM "CITGO-CHAVEZ", HAVE STARTED TO
CHANGE
THE NAME OF SOME OF THEIR STORES TO: "PETRO EXPRESS"

DO NOT BUY FROM "PETRO EXPRESS" EITHER!!! "PETRO EXPRESS" IS ALSO
100% OWNED BY "CHAVEZ."

KEEP THIS MEMO GOING SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT IS HAPPENING.

BOYCOTT "CITGO" AND "PETRO EXPRESS".............MAKE SURE THIS IS
PASSED ON TO EVERYONE YOUR YOUR E-MAIL LIST IN THE UNITED STATES
AND OUTSIDE OF AMERICA

And remember what he does in the northeast US with heating oil for homes. I think 7-11 is also a division of Citgo.
Not sure about that, but although there has been discussion about the Citgo stations in the past and even the upcoming name change, this is the first I have seen referencing firearms.

I may be wrong about 7-11 stores being a division of Citgo but, I know some of them were selling Citgo gasoline

A percentage of the stores are franchises. Local sort of Mom and Pop type businesses. I still do not buy from them. They get a AK-47 factory, we should go blow it up. Simple.

I put this on the Mach 1 Registry and they closed it on me said it was a hoax, although previous posts on the same topic when it was first learned about Chavez and Citgo, were not.

I have not been able to find anything that indicates it is a hoax, just the contrary. There is article after article and news broadcasts that substantiate the Citgo connection and his posture on us. Anyone else found this to be a hoax?

Petro Express is not owned by Venezuela. They actually are stopping sales of Citgo gasoline.

To be honest, I am sure (based on the current levels of popularity) he is not the first person to call the president a "donkey," but this sort of stuff is even more concerning to me:

http://www.reuters.com/article/wtMostRead/idUSN2723008820070528

But, I think the initial email is a bit hysterical, and was probably sent for political means (It was originally issued in January 2006 as an "action alert" by the American Family Association, a conservative Christian group.)

One has to ask, why Venezuela, which is a democracy and voted Chavez into power, would feel they need to vote this type of candidate...

He may have been democratlcally elected but he is becoming a second Castro. Looks like only a matter of time before there is another coup attempt. There will be some pretty upset women now that they can't watch their soap operas!

Ditto.

Chavez rules by decree, a power bestowed upon him by his National Assembly. He was given ultimate authority over everything and is in fact, another Castro. He's kicked out all foreign nations, and nationalized private institutions and companies. Chávez has engaged, with varying degrees of success, numerous other foreign leaders, including Argentina's Néstor Kirchner, China's Hu Jintao, Cuba's Fidel Castro and Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Chavez is seeking a law that would allow him to run for President --- for life.

At one point, Chavez wanted to create his own version of NATO with the following members: Iran, Cuba, Argentina, China, Iraq (before we toppled Hussein), and Libya.

Chavez is attempting to do away with free speech...40 months in jail for any media type person who attacks his decisions. Can you say "RCTV"?

I would rather run out of gas than buy CITGO.
