Heres some pics of my 4.6 Explorer block, supposed to be the same as the Cobra block. It might weight 80-85# . The main caps are steel, with 4 bolts through the top and two through the sides. I got it when the getting was good  Before Ford increased the price to over $1500. http://community.webshots.com/album/22409300tBfaJMaulF

All I bought was the 02 Explorer block. They were available from Ford starting in late 2000. I caught wind of them early this year after their true identity (Cobra Block) was discovered. I got it for $370 or so. When I ordered it from a local dealer, they were on national back-order, but a parts manager of a local Ford dealership found one of five left in a warehouse, in Texas I believe. Within another hour, they were gone.

I bought it to throw together a Mod engine for my 1987 LX to run in Mod Motor class next year. But the Fun Ford rules have changed and the the older bodies will not be allowed.
