I just found out that one of our "nearby" dragstrips is open until the weather shuts it down. Now my question is how is racing affectd by the cold. (30's-40's F)? I imagine that the colder charge of air would produce a bit more power but how does the cold affect traction?

Cold weather is great for racing. Just warm up the tires before you launch and traction shouldn't be an issue.

And,if your track preps the surface with traction compound,a sunny chilly day migh be better,a little heat helps set the tack!
