My thanks to Mid Life for posting the the helpful info on the computer fix. The dealership had no idea what i was talking about until i showed them Mid Life's post.
They then typed in the bulletin number and DL the necessary info and hooked my car up. I feel no major difference in the performance but for some reason the car seems a little louder. But best of all no annoying engine noise. My incident was a perfect example of the beauty of these forums. I was able to walk into the dealership armed with the necessary info to battle my apathetic dealer. His first response was there are no new fixes for the Bullitt, so asked to use his computer and 3 hours later the fix was finished. SWEET
Thanks again for sharing your info #388 and to the rest of you also. I'm getting quite an education

Sorry it took me so long to get back Learo . my comp was 01. It is my understanding that around Bullitt no. 1000 the code was switched at the factory to KSG02.

This is the info on the receipt

On the receipt they called it PCM upgrade TSB 011203.

Under the hood it is labeled as

1R3A 12A650-AC

Change authority #02301.

The change is to address some pinging on initial throttle tip-in which was louder on the early production Bullitts.

The dealer wants to hear you say that it pings when you firs step on the gas.

Hmm.. I wonder if I should get the upgraded program. My car seems to be working well with no pinging even in hot Houston weather.

Mine's not pinging either, but the dealer said they would flash it for my anyway if I wanted. I asked him "what are the changes?" and he told me the only thing it does is retard the timing to stop the pinging. Since retarding the timing lowers performance I opted not to do it.

Well as for the timing issue I have no response I don't know enough about that area to comment. But I do know that in the letter that a couple of members posted from Art it stated that the reflash would not affect performance. After hearing the response about the timing retard I got concerned, so I took my bullitt out for my own little performance test today. Weather is: Temp 89 and Humidity 70%. Me and my wife and full tank of gas. I took off from a dead stop and still got rubber in three gears. This is the same result I had with the KSG01. If in fact the performance is less then I don't notice it and furthermore no pinging so I can live with it.

what I thought was pinging ended up being the injectors just ticking.... sure enought I lifted the hood and could hear the injectors ticking away....... same sound that I hear and thought was pinging....
