You can get the stat from Ford or any parts house in your area.

I'm sure you can do the switch yourself since it's already an electric fan.

I remember reading a post here or at BON that you should NOT change the stat for a lower temp one. The computer will sense the change in temp and just negate it.

You also want to be sure that the engine gets up to proper running temp ASAP or else the computer will run in closed loop (rich mixture)until it does. The computer is calibrated for a specific (optimum) running temperature and opening the stat too soon will take it longer to warm up. Also, where do you live? Winter is just around the corner and you might want some heat this winter.

I think I read on 'Pro M's" site, tech pages, that the computer needs to see 190* to run everything optimally. :???:

I was thinking along the same lines, thermostat, fan switch, and beter radiator. My thinking wasn't necessarily for horsepower but to avoid detonation. Eventually I want to add a supercharger, but good tuning is propabably a better way to go.
