You get your 2003 Cobra convert.and take it to the track for a few Friday evening runs,an NHRA sanctioned track, and proceed to turn 13.0 to 13.20s,completely stock, and the Tech guy taps on your window and says " No roll bar,no more runs" You think they will be that strict? Rule book claims converts need a roll bar,6 point, if quicker than 13.99! That sure would put a damper on things.

Completely stock with a knowledgable/experienced driver and that car (stock 03 Cobra) will run under 12.5. My guess-one run and they shut you down without the rollbar if the track 'follows' the rules. it won't be a car issue as much as a track issue and how rule happy they are--rule happy may not be the best approach--have they had a bad accident over which the track got sued or threatened with a lawsuit-that might 'force' them to be rule happy.

No,I can't afford it either. Just thinking about how quick these cars will be and how they will fit in with local track rules. They give me a few warnings, once in awhile, about the speed my 85 LX is running, even though it is a coupe, and just on the 11.5 minimum.
