After this past weekend when I had a Bullitt come up behind me while driving on I-77, I really think the best view of the Bullitt is from the front. I have seen a number of other Mustangs following me before (both six cyl and GTs) but the Bullitt is much different from the front. It seems much wider and lower then the others. When coming up behind you, you know this car means business. I think it is the lack of emblems and no gauldy fog lights that makes is look so wide and mean.

Has anyone else have one following them and notice the same thing?

I agree about the police maganet. I haven't had a ticket in over ten years and got one a month after buying the B. Today while driving to work a sheriff car left from giving another person a ticket on the other side of the road an did a U turn and pulled in behind me. As soon as he did he flipped up his computer top and started punching in info. He tailgaited me all the way to work. Wasn't doing anything but cruzing. :dhg08: 5623:cloud9:

Last week in Indy, I was returning home after running a few errands in my daily driver, not a Bullitt, when I spied an HG 08/09 at a gas station.
A young guy, 20 something, was pumping regular in (first clue), and I told him "nice Bullitt, what's your number?". He just looked at me & said, "what number"? (second clue) When I told him the number on the engine strut brace, he then said "I don't remember." (third clue), we have a winner.
I told him how special his car was but I just had the feeling that to him, it was just a green Mustang & nothing more. I told him a bout IMBOC & suggested he visit the site & check it out. Hopefully, I'll meet him again & follow up. I just hope he knows his Bullitt # next time ha ha

On the flipside of that, I was entering the base one morning and a guard I have never seen before asked the question "what number?" I had no idea what he was talking about!! Badge number? ID number? SS number? No, he knew the Bullitt and commented that he saw it often and always wondered what number it was. (BTW, the people waiting behind me were ****ed about the wait)

I just slow down to about 2 or 3 mph under the limit to drive them nuts!

I happen to get alot of attention in my Bullitt, to be honest though, most of the people think it's a V6, and when someone pulls up beside me at a light, they almost always look at the spot on the fender where the GT symbol goes, and get this confused look on their face. Lots of attention in the Bullitt here in Canada. Ever since i got rid of my 01 Bullitt, i haven't had one speeding ticket(i'm a heavy footed driver) and instead of 275hp, i have 460? must be that extra stealthyness of the 08

Same here... driving to work last week I notice he's back about an 1/8 mile. Just cruising with traffic on my way into seattle. Plenty of folks jumping in and out of lanes, no signals, gunning it, etc. He just keeps following me. I've got the cruise on when I can and I don't talk on the phone, so no reason I can figure out. Highway patrol, so he followed me all the way into town, about 15 miles. My avg. fuel economy was reading 22.5 mpg, so you know I wasn't being rambunctious. Whatever.

fellows im 72 yrs.old,owned 46 cars ive always enjoyed having one that everone did not have one like it.like the 1970&71 plymouth sport fury GT only built two yrs a customized two door cupe on a state police chasey 440 tnt engine 323 danan rear.also 1974 pontiac grand am with 454 eng.let me just say this i would never have owned a mustang of any kind, tho they are some great cars.but a bullitt is a bullitt,they talk to ya.ive said this before i sold one of a kind bmw 540 sport so 5224 would have a gurage.

I was leaving a car show yesterday, they gave away Top 50 awards which I received one of and so did my 2 Buddies with Shelby GT's. There was probably 15 Stangs at the show, I had the only Bullitt. Anyway, as we were leaving the city park, a Officer was directing traffic at the intersection, as I approached he saw me coming, stood up straight, raised his right hand to Salute, and as I grinned and nodded driving by, he says, That is one BAD ride!! I thanked him, made my turn on the main road and let him hear it too. Looking in my mirror he was watching with a smile on his face. Think he knew about Frank?

I find I get alot of attention with my Bullitt....Not just from the exhaust sound.hehe.. Alot of people are amazed that she's 8 years old and looks as good as she does... I get alot of thumbs up from other drivers on the road.. Mostly middle aged men..lol.. But that's ok, cause it's nice to be driving a respected car like the Bullitt... When I would take the little one to school, all her guy friends would come up to the car telling me what a cool ride it is.. I always tell them, muscle is the way to go and say "NO" to rice!!!! Not to mention the amout of people who always want me to " light'em up" lol

The Bullitt is not getting attention because of the lack of bling it has hanging off of her panels!
I have about $5,000.00 in aftermarket parts installed on the Black Beast. These mods are very subtle and all tastefully desecrate.
I don't want to loss its sleeper appeal .

Bullitt Mustangs are Great and Live-On with each of Us Owners !!!!

Mustangs are quite rare here in Germany and the Bullitt even more so. But since the 05 Mustangs are rather rare here and the grill of our Bullitt has no horse emblem in it, many people just don't know what kind of car it is.

Sure, some people rightly recognize it as a "new Mustang", especially younger folks, but many just don't know what it is. Maybe a Jaguar, or a Bentley?

The name "Bullitt" is not well known over here and driving a "Bullitt" means even less to most people. I've often thought about adding a "running pony" on my grill, although this might look like a V6...

But, hey, I get alot of looks on the street, even if the people don't know what car it is.

Oh... and, for the record, no NYC police officer has ever given my Bullitt a second look. Don't know if they're mostly so young and unfamiliar with classic movies that they are clueless to the car's history or what... But they also don't follow me as if I am "potential ticket giving material". :lol:
