DO NOT BUY FROM NR AUTO (www.nrauto.com)

I just got off the phone with NR Auto. I bought some EL-GLO gauges from them for my 2001 GT. I wanted to return them because they were defective so I called NR. They were very rude and did not want to take back the gauge faces. They were willing to try a replacement gauge face since they were defective but I wanted to just return them. They finally gave me a return code of GFFM22802 and told me I would be charged a 20% restocking fee. I asked why and was told because I am returning them. I said, on your web site it says 20% due to anything other than our error. I said is it my error that the gauge faces are poorly manufactured and defective? NR said no but it is not an error on our part either and kept telling me that I had to have read the FAQ before I ordered and that their policy is clearly stated. So I said I will dispute the charges with Visa. NR said go ahead and do that but are you gonna keep the gauges? I said no I am sending them back. NR says I won't accept them and you cannot dispute any charges unless they items are returned. I said ok, I am going to post all over the web and corral.net about your company. He said why would you do that? Cause your product is defective and you are refusing to refund my money when it is an error on your part for sending out defective gauges. NR then said I won't accept your gauges and hung up on me!

I called Visa and am disputing the charges. I am also making a complaint with the better business bureau.

Good, thanks for making us aware about 'defective' businesses. Some places have no idea how to run a business in terms of customer relations. However, it is important to read the small print before a transaction, but any company that will not accept a return of defective merchandise is defective themselves.

They are wrong, if you have made an attempt, in good faith, to resolve the dispute you have the legal right to refuse to pay. This is part of your credit card "rights".

They are incorrect about the dispute resolution of the CC company. If you find fraud, or unfair business practices, the credit card company will gladly refuse to pay for the charge. Call them and talk to them about what happened to you. I would not be at all surprised if they call the better business B, for you.

I think NR was going to do the right thing by replacing the gauge faces. Just accept the new faces and be done with the whole deal, you order gauges so i'm sure you need them.
There in business to make money, you have a problem and there will to make it right.NOT just say "OH WELL" send them back for a refund.

Which credit card company do you have? Some of them aren't very aggressive with disputes. MBNA SUCKS when it comes to disputes. Chase is good about it. And so is Amex.

Keep in mind, there are very strict rules about disputes. The fact that they offered you a replacement set just may negate your dispute.

I recently canceled my MBNA cards (my wife and I each had our own alumni cards from college) because they refused to even try to dispute a charge. My dispute was based on poor customer service (which is a valid reason, as stated on their dispute form). I knew the dispute would be tough (BTW, I work for Chase credit card services  and I called our dispute department to make sure I had a case and they said I did, but it would be tough) but doable. MBNA never tried, so they lost 2 long-time customers.

Good luck with yours!

attitude and customer service is everything... and apparantly they do not have it... I believe I would have taken the
replacements they offered and if they came damaged then I would have told them to cram it and their restocking fee

The product is defective. Are you telling me they are going to restock a defective item? I would hope not. I don't want the gauges because 1. they are defective, 2. they are low quality and don't fit right and 3. there customer service stinks. I have every right to return them.

You have every right to mad about rude behavier and bad buisiness practices. You also have every right to return the product. Your problem is with the companies policy. Is the product damaged, not constructed properly, or are you saying the defect is improper fit due to poor design.

As you can see in the picture I finally got posted above, the gauge is manufactured incorrectly around the hole that the needle goes through. The fit and finish on this gauge overlay is not correct either. Now are you telling me NR is going to restock this item? Plus the gauge th sent me differs from what is listed on their site. I authorized purchases for the gauges depicted on their site and not what they decided to send me. Most companys never actually charge the restocking fee unless you return it simply becasue you do not like it.

I can't see your picture for some reason. I went to their site and they are really trying to make it hard for anyone to return something. Returning something to the maker is harder than returning something to a parts house. See they know they won't get any more business from you, but they have to keep the parts house happy or they'll get dropped. Anyway, good luck with the credit card company. I hope you get satisfaction one way or another.

I'm with you 01LaserRed5 - We buy products over the internet sight-unseen, and when we receive the product we should have the option to return it for a full refund if we are unhappy with the product.

Most decent resellers will follow the policy of providing good customer service is the way to survive is todays marke and economy.

I say, go to your credit card company and explait the situation and dispute all charged.

Good for you, 01LaserRed5!!
