Just the other day, I finally found the time to put in the 4.10s and the timing adjuster (timing set to 14 degrees).

WOW...this really wakes up the car, but many of you know this already.

The main point I need to covey here is that YES you can go to 4.10s and still comfortably use the car as a daily driver.

I drive it 35 miles a day on SoCal freeways to/from work with absolutely no problem. IT's THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: Not only do I kick ass off the line BUT ALSO I only run at 2900 RPM going 75 mph on the freeway with plenty more pull in 5th.

I highly recommend 4.10s over 3.73s whether you are a track guy or a daily driver.

(And the DENSO Iridium plugs are immensely helpful in providing smooth acceleration and flawless cold starts.)

Another Mustanger has seen the light! 4.10s are all good....I've had mine for 6 months and 7000 miles and I haven't regretted it for a second. And for a good part of that time my girlfriend was living in Houston, almost three hours away, and I was driving down there every other weekend. Not a problem. You're right....they should've put 4.10s in these cars from the factory.

I really wish i could make this decision over and i would have 4.30's. Yes my Bullitt is a daily driver and i drive 30 to 40 miles a day.

I was all excited about my 4.10's and they weren't as "manly" as i thought they would be. Anybody wanna buy a used set of 4.10's so i can go to 4.30's or even 4.56's??

I got mine done at the same dealer where I bought the car. They even installed gears I brought in, though they were insistent that they be FoMoCo gears. Charged me $200, which is very competitive.

I have a question...if I got gears...where do I go to get them installed? I've never really dealt with mods before.

ok guys. you have me thinking about the 4.10's now. in your honest opinion, what kind of mpg difference are you seeing with the gears. can you give me tank distance and mpg before and after the gears? i would really appreciate it.

I've logged every gas stop since I bought my GT 11K miles ago and there was NO (none, nada) difference in gas mileage when I put in the 4.10s at about 4K. 19 in town, 24 on the highway, regardless of how I drive it. One of these days I'm gonna nurse it through a gas stop and see just what it'll do if I'm trying for good mileage.
Yeah......right.

well, actually one of the reasons i bought the car was because of the gas mileage. i am a young sales rep and i drive about 35,000 miles per year. my other car is a 67 gto that has 4.10's and gets 3 mpg if i am not on it too much. i love the fact that i have a stock 13 second car that i can also get 24 mpg with. as long as i can stay in the 20 mpg range, i will go ahead with the gears.
