When I got home I went straight to the rat traps. 6 more were set off and 2 of those were completely out of the flower bed on the otherside of the driveway going towards the neighbors house. OUCH!!! I have a distinct feeling that they (cats) will be paying alot more attention to where they do their crapping in the future. For an added measure I put some red pepper along the top wall of the flower bed. Guess I will see the results of my labor later on this week. Better yet, if i don't see them anymore the better.

The way I figure it is I have "pests" tearing up my flower beds. They could be cats, rats, deer, *****, oppossums, god forbid SKUNKS, etc.. We live in the country. If he REALLY wants to know I will tell him. And is will have a big 'ole "Cat Snappin" grin on my face.

hee hee hee...I was raised a country boy too in California. Your comment re skunks made me laugh... Dad set out a live trap trying to catch ground squirrels that infested the lower 40 one year...went out one day and it had been set off...by a polecat!! Now...just exactly how do you get a skunk out of a cage without getting sprayed...it was hysterical watching him trying to figure it out. I learned their little feet go stamp stamp stamp before they spray that day.

I learned the hard way when in between my Sophomore and Junior years in HS. I built this trap to catch squirrels, or anything else. Well I made all the sides out of solid plywood with small holes drilled in for air. I got one hell of a surprise when I lifted the cage. This skunk sprayed me real good. When my dad got home he actually burned all my clothes I WAS wearing and kept his distance from me for quite a few days. We never did find anyting that would get the smell off.
