The engine compartment is actually black instead of body color, that is all I know.

You must mean the very little you can see on the front of the strut towers. Way too much hardware in the engine bay,same as all new cars.

NEWS FLASH....The hot new Bullitt drag mod will be hood pins for the front of the hood. I will be making a pair,longer in length with a 2 inch spacer. This will allow you to pin the hood in place,with the leading edge open by 2 inches,to let all that fresh air into that huge air intake box!!

Right Greg. This is going to be the new CAI kit available through FFRP at a later date. It basically seals itself with the new hood liner and collects air that is around 20 degrees cooler than the engine compartment. And you can get the new hood liner/CAI for any '05-up Stang when they become available.

The engine compartment in my '07 GT is painted and clearcoated.

If I remember correctly, it is a regular filter with a service life of 15,000 miles, from what we were told at AAI.
