Fewest Miles?

When checking the voting booth I noticed
2% had voted in the 0-100 mile category.
Of course they may have many more miles now.
So let's see who has the fewest miles now.

DHG 3875 has 495 miles.
Purchased 29AUG01

I also saw that 3% had their Bullitt wrapped
in plastic in another poll, so these
Bullittheads probably have real low miles.

the hub caps don't come off the Charger.

What is the point in buying one of these cars if you don't drive it. For those of you who don't drive them.... You don't know what you're missing. And if they ever become highly desirable as a collectors item I'm sure it will be 20 - 30 years down the road. #0085 has 1753 miles on it with many more planned for when the weather gets nicer.
I have heard of very wealthy collectors
that will buy a car like our Bullitt and
simply not drive it. Stored away with many
other cars with 1 or 2 or 10 miles on them.
Then 10 or 20 years later they whip these
cars out and show them or sell them etc.
They are so wealthy that they have plenty of
other hot cars to drive and have fun in.
If I was very wealthy I would have bought
all three Bullitt colors and cycle through
them on a monthly basis. I don't have room
in my garage for all three so two would be
stored and one driven for one month. The
driven Bullitt would then be stored for a
month while another color is brought out
and driven for a month.

I guess I'll settle for one DHG!

Cars, in general, are a crappy investment. I don't understand the logic behind it. If you buy it to drive on a not-so regular basis, there's nothing wrong with that. But buying, and never driving is just nuts.
As most well know in here that hubby and I are 1 of 300 very lucky owners of a Cobra R. We live in a not so small town of about 175,000 and low and behold, there is a 2nd 2000 Cobra R making it's residency here in Spokane! He belongs to our Mustang Club also but he is a collector of cars (has 15) and one of them is the R, so it is NEVER driven or showed. It is in the 7,000 sq ft shop with 2 Vipers, 2 Prowlers, a 70 Boss 429 a Vette, and several others. He said it is too much trouble moving cars around to get to the one that he wants to drive for that day! Can you imagine! He owns a dealership here. We, on the other hand, are driving our collector cars to the max! Who are we saving them for? Our 2 sons that wouldn't take care of them anyway or the daughter who could give a hoot? NOT!!! :grin:
For some reason we all thought this was a good car to buy. I for one felt really lucky to get one in my possesion. And I intend to drive it like it was designed to be driven. I can't wait for racing season to open again.

Fewest miles? Lets hear who has driven the Bullitt. I bought mine to make the 62 mile one way drive to work. Currently showing 19000 + will be 20000k by the end of the weekend. It isn't worth not driving em. I worked at a SVT dealer in 93. Guys that moth balled 93 cobra's aren't getting the sticker price they paid then for the car today. When I bought my Bullitt the other car I was considering was an 800 mile 93 red Cobra that would match my 93 Cobra R.
During the conversation with the owner he detected I was looking for a driver and panicked. My Cobra R has less than 2500 miles on it. Its used 2 sets of Brake Pads and 2 sets of race tires. The twin turbo system assisted in the demise of headgasket and a clutch. Other than at the track or at a car show the car is not that fun. The bullitt has all the comforts and the fun.
Don't park em, to quote another poster,

1100kms or about 650miles.....i bought a 2001 f250 super duty 4x4 the same day it 10000kms or about 6200miles

I thought I was the only one with an appreciable commute everyday. I put 70+ miles on per day (round trip, not as bad as yours) and have racked up 5000 miles in just 3 months. And I'm loving every mile.

I agree that cars are a bad investment. Unless you're buying something from the 60's/70's era (i.e. any muscle car), chances are you'll never get out of it what you got in it (so to speak :wink: ). So drive the sh*t out of them!
I think most everyone has a different opinion and situation. I picked up True Blue #4043 in late August. I have put on only 350 miles on it. Every mile has been a joy. I also own 1969 Shelby GT 350 #0816, 1968 Convertible G.T. Mustang, and my daily driver 1989 Mustang G.T. I did not buy the Bullitt for a investment it was purchased so I can drive it when I want and enjoy every minute of it. It seems that those who drive theirs as daily drivers don`t understand that. Trust me it is a nice option to have.

new) to use as my daily driver. When the
Miata is in the shop, I make my wife take
me everywhere I need to go in her Jeep...
and she doesn't mind either! :lol:

To those who have low miles (like 350 miles)
i hope you properly store them (on blocks, oil drained, holes blocked of etc...) and start them by pouring oil in to the valve cover. if your storing them take care of them and dont neglect them. I just wish i could do the same, maybe one day i will buy your low mile car to remind me of what she started out like. Good luck!!!
Just shy of 3,500. Purchased June 2001. I take it out for the shear pleasure of driving it. That is about once a week when my nerves need a break!


My bullitt is my daily driver and I fall in love every day. Well, lets just say I love my car alot and very thankful to be apart of the bullittizum that we all share!! :grin: :lol:

Just turned 2,500 all dry weather miles Saturday, on #4204's first birthday!
Well I can't say that it has low miles. And even though I own a '93 ford bronco with 150,000 miles on it I have 19,500 on the bullitt. I will have to agree with what some other people have said. I drive my car like it was meant to be driven. I comute to work every day about 22 miles round trip. But after I get home or on the weekend I love cruising in my second black beast. The bronco is great for throwing camping gear, mountain bike, or for when I go snow skiing. But gas is to expensive to use it as a comute. I would love to be able to keep the miles low on the bullitt. But then I think of how much fun and how smooth the car rips down the highway. So I hop in and drive were ever.
