I know we've discussed this in earlier posts, but does anyone know the final answer? Has Ford officially released the total # produced and what the final number is?

Total made 5582
Highest serial number made 5601 (because some of the number stickers may have been prematurely ruined or went home on someone's lunchbox, etc...)

Dennis,
My S/N is 6002. I believe you mean that 5582 were built but there were _____ Serial Numbers issued. Since mine is 6002 there must have been more S/N's than that.

Hi Jeff,
The 5's look a lot like 6's on the serial number stickers. I'll bet you a month's pay that you REALLY have Bullitt # 5001. Can you post a scan of your sticker, or do you have a magnifying glass or loupe with which to check it out again?

Dennis,
You're absolutely right! I put a magnifier to it and it is indeed 5002, not 6002. Thanks to you, (if I'm not too late) I have now corrected my keychain order to blakwing to reflect this. Thanks a lot!!
By the way, you said in an earlier post that you went to school in San Luis Obispo. Was it Cal Poly or Cuesta? I graduated from Cal Poly back in the stone age (1973) and one of my daughters graduated from there in 1999.

Are you a (Cal Poly) Mustang? Just curious.

Thanks, green pony, you and Dennis are both absolutely right! It should be S/N 5002!

Jeff, ever figure out your number? 5XXX or 6XXX. The numbers are a bit tricky to read.

Hi Jeff,
I graduated Cal Poly in 1992 with a degree in Architorture...I mean Architecture. I just passed through San Luis a couple years ago and it has really changes, especially downtown.

Dennis,

I started out as an "Archi" but finished in Business Administration. Realized early on that I didn't have the creative ability to succeed in that field. LOVED Cal Poly though! My daughter graduated with a BS in Psychology.

We'll have to get together one of these days, compare Bullitts and SLO (San Luis Obispo) memories. You've done some great mods to your Bullitt.
