Thanks to John Henry for the digicam pics...
I love these harnesses. They glue you to the seat, are very comfortable, allow you to retain the stock seatbelts all around, and the shoulder harnesses are removed in seconds with a quick release to allow for backseat passengers.
I bought mine at http://www.subesports.com. Also in the pics you can see the FR500 steering wheel, shifter with gripper ball and MGW arm.

Thanks for all the info on this subject Dennis. I have never felt secure in OEM belts and would really like to upgrade. Maybe a Saturday project sometime this summer. Dave

Those things are sweet! How much total did you pay for both sides and all the accessories? What else besides the 2 belts would i need to order? Was the install easy to do because i am after all mechanically challenged! I need those belts in blue, my mgw bullitt numbered shifter and my bullitt floor mats and i will be in business

Howdy,
The roughest part is that they are not cheap, but I could not buy just one side and leave my lovely wife with the wimpy stock 3-pointers.
I paid $292 for everything (both sides). Just order the seatbelts and that's all you need. You'll need a Torx 50 bit for some of the anchor points and 18mm open and socket wrenches for the others.
The install was fairly easy after figuring out how to lift the rear seat.
After installing two of the rear SCHROTH anchors I gave them a good pull to bend them 90 degrees (you'll understand when you do it). I also used a Phillips bit held 90 degrees in the jaws of vise grip pliers to remove the stock 3-point shoulder harness loop (that ugly thing next to the headrest).
The harnesses stay in position fairly well but to make sure they stay right next to the headrest post I looped black electrical wire around each shoulder harness and tied them to the headrest post. Works pretty well.
The harnesses are easy to use...left shoulder harness is connected to the lap and right side is also one unit. You put in on in a motion similar to putting on a jacket then just buckle the lap belt. Sort of feels like you're donning/wearing the car  . It's much easier than assembling all four pieces of a Simpson Harness, or aircraft harness.
The lap portion, by the way, has thick leather against your pelvis...VERY comfy!

Hey Dennis,
Do they still allow for forward movement via some type of retraction device or do you have to unbuckle to reach the glove compartment area? Thanks!

Nope I'm afraid they don't. I have no problems closing the door, playing with the radio or anything else around the driver but the glove compartment will require a quick unbuckle-then-rebuckle maneuver at a stoplight.

Do the belts come with directions that have pictures specifically for the stang? I will need decent directions, not just 2 belts and a thank you for the business, now you are on your own.

nice pics dennis...

those are nice... i already ordered my black ones with the grey lettering...

only thing is that i was under the impression that they anchor to those little anchors that are on the rear deck (next to the rear speakers).. guess not..

Escro...Not really specific to the Mustang but rather they have diagrams for different types of car configurations. Just look for the diagram w/ belts connecting to front and rear anchor points and if you run into any questions just give me a call and I'll help in any way I can (520)297-5877.

PaLiAcH...What you were looking at is the baby seat tie-downs. I had considered the same thing but they are not directly behind the driver. In a wreck you don't want to be yanked to one side or the other..with the resulting neck lash. The anchoring to the rear seatbelt anchor points really squares off the harness installation and gives you a solid symmetric support. I'm no expert but these are my opinions based upon installing and using the SCHROTHs.

For what it's worth, I called Subesports and spoke to a tech (?) there. He asked a few specific questions (street use/track use), car model, etc. and recommended a 3 point harness. I have not received them yet so I don't know if they are what I want or not. Sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Oh well, I'll know soon enough, I guess...

I'm preping my Bullitt for a day at Laguna Seca, and ran into a friend of mine today (we open track our Cobras at T-Hill and Sears Point). Anyway I told him that I'm running at LSIR, and he said that he's taking his M3 there, too. Cool, a buddy to race around with!

Anyway, he was showing me the "special" Schroth harnesses for the Beemer - wow! They are cool. Basically, where one anchors the rears in a Mustang, in the Beemer one anchers female seat belt latches. IOW, the harness buckles in at the anchors points.

Well, that convinced me. So I called Subesports, and they recommended the Ralley 4 harness. After searching the info on this in Bullittclub tonight and reading thru these threads, I'm convinced! I'm gonna order a pair tomorrow.

Thanks for the information!

Have Fun,
Randy R...

You're welcome Cobra! Good luck with them.

Hey Adequate, how did the Rallye3's work out? Did they ever arrive? I still don't understand how 3 points would work (mount). The Rallye4's seem perfect.

Thanx for the info on the harness. Easy install about 15 mins +/- few for changes on left side front mount to get a better position so it wouldn't hit the plastic on the seat. Also I couldn't take my rear seat out ?! put lift it from the back and work over the top. Is there a release point or two for the front of the bottom rear seat?. Well any way I post some pics of harness mounting points so others know what it takes to mount it.

Thanx (agian)
