ok the bullitts as you all know come a little louder than the gt (stock). ok i have one simple question...i want my bullitt to be louder than what it is already. all i want to add right now is a muffler to do the trick. would flowmasters be what i'm looking for, will flowmasters by themselves make my bullitt louder than what it is already. if anyone has an answer to my question email me at [email protected]

I dont recommend flows for one reason, every older mustang and camaro you see have them..I have mac ss mufflers on mine and they sound real nice..Several other bullittheads have liked a new muffler from spin-tech and magnaflows.Do a search for muffler or exhaust..Hope this helps.

KRS 1, How do you like your MAC Flow Path Mufflers? A Mustang Shop here sells them at a good price, and they look sweet.
The anti-reversion design is interesting, too. Mike

I have the MAC stainless steel FlowPaths welded into the stock catback (plus Mac Highflow 2-cat "H"). The sound is incredible. Just turn the key and every head turns to see the beast. Sounds great at ALL rpms's. Honestly it's the best sounding Mustang I've ever heard. I could only imagine possibly improving this sound by adding headers. FlowPaths are deep, throaty, musclecar mean.
Does drone quite bad at ~2,000 rpm with the windows all the way up. I've learned to keep the windows down and/or avoid the 2,000-2,200 rpm range (easy with 3.73 gears, even at highway cruising in 5th).

Actually if you wanted to save a few bucks at the Muffler end of things you could just do what Lok 'N Lod did with his.. He simple cut the mufflers out and replaced them with straight pieces of exhaust tube. He retained the factory tips (which look much better IMHO) and the sound was incredible. At idle there wasn't much difference, but when he stood on it... WOW!!!
If I didn't have so many long distance trips planned I might have gone that route.. but from my perspective the car has to be liveable while cruising @ 90 for long periods of time.
Good luck with whatever you do and keep us all posted.

I also like the sound of the mac mufflers.I have the Bassani high flow cats and then the mufflers welded in..Very throaty and load under heavy acceleration..At idle its not much different than stock..It has a great sound that turns everybodys head, especially when you stand on it. It sounds better than any other of the 9 mustangs ive had.

I was just about to reply here, but I don't want you guys to think I'm patting myself on the back, because I kind of stumbled onto my setup, and now I wouldn't change anything. I took a chance on the Spin Tech ProStreet mufflers, without ever hearing them, and they sounded incredible after just having them welded in. I didn't think the sound could improve until I added the Magnaflow x-pipe, now it really rocks!! I'm no expert, as I said, but every Mustang shop that I've taken mine to has said they've never heard a better sounding Stang, so I guess I got lucky. I know there are other choices that sound great too, but most drone, and these don't. That was hugely important to me, I drive over 100 miles a day on the highway.

Thanks, KRS1. I ordered MAC SS FlowPaths today. However, Spintech did look good too. Mike

I have the spintechs as well and I think they are awesome. Also not sure whether to believe their pamphlets but it shows that the spintechs have same same cfm rate as the borlas which were the highest flowing mufflers...MOLJAY, did the magnaflow x-pipe with cats make it louder/deeper?Feel any different power wise?

Do you guys with spin-tech mufflers have the part number of the ones you installed?? I really like the sound of my mac mufflers but the drone in 5th gear at 70 is pretty annoying..I will installing 3.73's soon so it will probably be worse..thanks in advance

Actually, after you install the 3.73's things will get better. You won't hear drone until you slow to about 60 mph...slower than most traffic these days. The 3.73's will improve long road trips dramatically, funny enough.

#2971, the sound is definitely louder with the x-pipe, but it retained the low throaty growl of the Spin Techs. It feels stronger, but it was installed the day after my DiabloChip went in, so I'm sure I'm feeling a power surge from both. I'm going to re-dyno soon, and see what that tells me. Still no drone, so I'm very happy with that.

KRS 01, the model number of my Spin Techs is 6224. They actually seem to be sounding even better as I get some miles on them, but that may be my imagination, lol.
