Okay, for a long time I have thought about doing 3.73's in the Bullitt and getting that upgraded steering wheel and a Tri Ax, but something really irks me about Ford and the Motorsports guys. At the Street Rod Nationals and several other events Ford has showned up with this new "put a Ford in a Ford" theme about Street Rods and such and they have hyped all the Motorsports stuff for Mustangs and the rest at other events. I have been told point blank that they are wanting to be mod friendly and that you will be able to do things like go to an STV dealer and get real Ford rear gears put in with a warranty and it will not void the cars warranty blah blah blah. Problem is the SVT dealers will not do it. They will sell you the gears or the wheel but they will not let their techs put them on. Its funny how my buddy with his SS got a dealer that has one of those perfomance shops to put 3.73's in and none of the Motorsports guys will do it. Out of three SVT dealers all of them would sell me the wheel, none would put it on. I can not wait to see those Motorsports guys at the next event I go to, freaking idiots. I guess I will wait the three years on the warranty to go out and do it myself. I do not want to do anything right now because I for one do not trust the tranny and I still have a ping issue and rough idle with my Bullitt that no one can fix. I have tried all grades of gas, took the car in, and they say nothing is wrong, but I just do not see it that way and I am not taking any chances. I have never been in a late model Mustang or SS or anything that idles like mine at a stop light when its hot, its like a 68 stang with a "hot rod" idle. It would feel good on a 68, I am not sure an 01 should be like that.
Anyone else when the car warms up think it thumps like an old school ride?
