What's the word on this product. Is it any different than the 5w20 that I bought 5 months ago? The part number is identical, but the packaging has changed. The synthetic composition is being marketed more heavily.

And how decent is the blend, anyway? I remember Valvoline offering a synthetic blend about 6 years ago. Is it hype? Is there anyone that truly likes Ford's product?

I bought oil and filters from my dealer for my first two oil changes so I'd have the receipts in case I ever have to justify any warranty claims against Ford. The 'death rattle' has got me slightly rattled myself.

My first change was at 1200 miles. Number two is coming now at 2800. I'm not sure if I'll go to Mobil1 for my third change at around 4800. Any suggestions?

I went to Mobil 1 5W-30 @ 6000 miles and change every three thousand. The death rattle remained the same with traditional oil or syn. The dealer changed it back to traditional 5w-20, but the death rattle continues.
