I have been looking at lighter weight wheels as I have been getting more serious about my racing but like the look of the Torq Thrust rims. I came across the American Racing's VF490 rims, they are two piece forged rims (forged center and barrel). VN405 Torq Thurst II cast center forged barrel stepped and VN425 which are also cast center forged barrel stepped.

One of the things I have run into is soft lip vs stepped, something I was unfamiliar with but soft lips appear to reduce clearance on calipers.

Does anyone know anything about these, particularly weights for 18x10 and if they clear stock brakes? Thanks for the help.
