Future Nationals Poll

The Nationals Staff would like your input. We need to decide whether or not to continue the practice of moving the nationals year to year or to have a permanent home like Tulsa with possible regional events leading up to the Nationals. So vote your preference!

If you vote to move, give us an idea of the events could we go in conjunction with? FFW is not an option we want to revisit so other events like the Rocky Mountain Roundup would be the type of event. The advantages are that we do not need to worry about insurance and other considerations.

I say move it around. That way it can make it's way a little further east/west/north/south for the non-diehards
I can't vote. It only says move it around the US. Where do I check off for bringing it to Canada?

Not to mention the poll wasn't there when I posted

NON-DIEHARDS? HEY!

Some of us just wanna keep the miles down so we look forward to knowing that pretty soon Nats will be close enough to drive.

If it's always in Tulsa, that could get a bit repetitive. Could anything be as cool as SF!! (I flew and rented.)

Even Bullitt County was one-of-a-kind. (Had to work.)
Move it around! Like Rick said San Francisco was a blast and we all had a blast. Like Paul said move it around up north would be nice either Michigan, Ohio or Wisconsin would be great. Not that it would ever happen but hey what ever.
Maybe Cincinnati, Ohio would be good for 08. I'm not sure what's goin' on there but the location would be good for a lot of guys.

Any open road courses and open drag strips in Cinci?
I like the idea of moving it around...keeps everyone's eye on the "where" of the next one...I know I haven't been yet, but if it was in Miami, Orlando, Tampa or Atlanta, etc. I could find time in my schedule, (and convince my wife), to make it.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Tampa: The Skyway Bridge Cruise.
Longboat Key: Beach Cruises
Siesta Key: The Gilligan's Cruise

All near Tampa
The closest quarter mile track i live near is beech bend in bowling green, kentucky. Every year they have a NMRA event in september. It is a great time, car shows, swap meet, and after-market midway. I think it is a great race track. That is my 2 cents.
Suggestion for N/W regional or National event

I say move the Nats around but a few regional events is a good idea also. An event to tie it to in the Northwest would be the Mustang N/W roundup one of the largest Mustang gatherings in the country. It includes 4 days of events, a Open Track day, pony trails cruise, and shows both Saturday and Sunday. What they don't tell you is the track is open for night drags both Friday and Saturday night.

The Open Track and Drags would both take place at Pacific Raceway

I voted to move it around, but it doesn't really matter. I would not get tired of it being in the same place at the same time every year.

No matter what state it is held in, no matter what city in that state it is held in, we will only get less then 75 Bullitt owners to attend out of 2,358 at any one gathering. Pretty sad showing. Too many inexcusable excuses to not attend, the least of which is it is too far to go, or I don't want to rack up the miles on my Bullitt. Too many times have I heard, "If you only would have had it in my city, I would have attended". Sad, very sad.

I am not an overtly outgoing person, but I do enjoy the comraderie of a passel of Bullitt's and their owners together having a good time. Showing their cars. Racing for bragging rights. Partying til all hours in the parking lot. Just being together. People with a common interest, their Bullitt.

So it really doesn't matter to me. I will make an effort every year to plan in advance to take the time off from work, save whatever amount of money I deem to be budgeted for the trip, and make the trip to wherever it may be held, and even spend more than my budget. Even in Canada. Even if it means I have to budget for a passport in order to return home again. See, it's not really that hard. It will be a balst for me, always.

San Fran was a blast but I prefer to have my car there rather than a rental. I was referring to the folks that aren't willing or can't drive for a day and a half for various reasons....work, family, $$ etc.

For example, since the infamous Virginia Nats the only people from VA that I can recall seeing are Jeff and Gail.

And just for the record, Dave has earned the right to talk this way. He has been at every major Bullitt event WITH his car! (1st, 2nd, 3rd, *******, and San Fran Nats; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Texas Bullitt Shootouts; Ford 100th and Mustang 40th)

I missed the ******* and San Fran Nats. I will miss Tulsa this year as well.

Don't forget Jimmy Ray as well as John and Julie.

Haven't seen Jon nad Julie since Va and JR is a Missourite now but you get my point
And then there's Kurt and his TB high mileage Bullitt that has made every Nats. :)

I say move it around also. Some folks wait around hoping it will be closer to where they live each year and can make the drive.
I vote for move around giving others that may not be able to afford to drive that far a chance to make it.
I think we have our answer. Now give us some ideas for future locations and venues...... You can email me with your nominations [email protected] Remember you are selling your locations so convince us!!!
