Some of us now prefer to paint them to match the car. I originally did it just to stop the rust (before there was anyone making the screws aftermarket), but now don't think I'd go back to "stock". I put about 3 coats of paint on and a couple clear coats and they really look great and have held up to the weather, gasoline, etc. Plus it's just a little "detail" that looks different than everyone else has (especially true since every mustang owner out there started stealing our fuel doors, the bastards!)
