I just walked in the door from a great night at the track. This was my very first time and I was nervous and the place was packed. I only had time for three passed and I can't wait to go again!!! Here's how I did:

Ist pass: R/T .501 (almost perfect)
60 2.099
330 6.071
1/8 9.256
MPH 77.74
1000 11.966
1/4 14.245
MPH 99.01
Not bad but I know I could do better because I was so pumped up that I was pulling on the shifter and pulled it out of first geawhen I wasn't even close to being ready!

2nd pass: R/T .592
60 2.077
330 5.890
1/8 9.010
MPH 78.86
1000 11.694
1/4 13.960
MPH 99.44
WOW, I was so stoked after this run because I broke into the 13's which was my secret goal!!! I was so happy, launched @ around 3K and hooked really well. The whole run felt great!

3rd pass: R/T .202 (blew it)
60 2.449
330 6.561
1/8 9.765
MPH 77.35
1000 12.489
1/4 14.781
MPH 98.27
I blew the light because I was totally concentrating on the launch. The second pass wass @ 3k and hooked good so this time I was focusing really hard on keeping it at 4k. I jumped on the first yellow, red lighted and went up in smoke to boot! Rats.

The wife and kids were there and it was a lot of fun. I was so happy to get into the 13's with a bone stock Bullitt, right down to the paper filter! I would love to break 100 MPH while still stock. Don't we all have one sweet ride!

What the hell???? How are you hooking like that? The best I have done is a 2.11 short time and it either lights the tires up or bogs like sh*t at 1500-1600. Is my track that crappy?

BTW, really nice numbers. Congrats

The only thing I did that may have helped with the launch was dropping the tire pressure to 25 lbs. Before my first pass while talking with people in the lanes, a couple of guys commented that Gateway has a great strip. The ride was as smooth as glass. It was also down right cold which everyone racing I'm sure liked.

Yeah, I've been running the 25 lbs of air in the rears too since after my first runs, JB Vobra pointed it out. I have to think my track is crap for test & tune. I'm gonna try somewhere else.

Dale,

Unfortunitly the season is about up. The 26th is the last date I know of strictly for test and tune. It is a Friday and I'll be going again after work. The cost was great, $15.00 to race or $20.00 otherwise to get in. Teresa, my wife, wants to take a pass or two so we may have to pay $15 each for that, I don't know.

This was incredible FUN, I wish I had went sooner. I loved it.
