Are you guys and gals worried that adding the gears and driveshaft might void the warranty? I am about to place an order and would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks!

I am not concerned with it. Some might be. My thought on this is, if I am not bypassing a rev limiter, or messing with air/fuel, I am not hurting it. I don't see where gears or a driveshaft would affect it, but thats just me.

Now if the rearend goes out, they may not fix it if you had gears installed. But, I certainly don't see how they could void the rest of the cars warranty.

Hey Dan, I asked this question at the shop that installed mine, and they said that the gears themselves would obviously not be covered, but it doesn't void the warranty on anything else, unless they could prove that the gears broke something else. I didn't even think twice about it, and I love mine with the 3.73's, it really rocks now!!

I have the same understanding. It will prolly have alot to do with the dealer. Some are mod friendly other are not. I think that has more to do with the dealer's service department. If it is a profitable department they will try not to turn away warranty work. If the dept is loosing money they will try to limit the amount of warranty work.

This of course is just my opinion.

I just got the dealer to do the install on my 4.10s. Figured that might circumvent any warranty hassles down the road, and they might be more likely to back up their work than a smaller shop (I know, in a perfect world). They only charged me $200, so the price was pretty much right.

Thanks to everyone for the info. Yeah, I am just a little concerned cause I don't want to go to a dealer for warranty work, especially the engine or other major stuff, and have them simply say "Well the mods you put in there void the warranty, sorry!!"

Anymore thoughts?

Thanks.
