Okay, I do not know how much it will help but my dad's best friend (who is like a second dad to me) is really good friends with someone high up in the tech end of things with Ford. If anyone would know anything about the ticks it would be him...he is a master trouble shooter for Ford and a trainer...plus he is a real hot rodder. Too bad he is not anywhere near where I live or I bet he and his tech kids would tear into my car. I will pass on what I find out.

Well, I found out today why it took so long to talk to my source, he was on vacation and had a pending early retirement thing going with Ford. He is going out on early and I guess so are a bunch of older high/midlevel guys who are sorta still in the grunt realm of Ford.

Anyhow, he said a service bullitt-tin (har har) should be out by now or out soon on the Bullitt and noise. He says its very loose tollerances on the rockers and a retention belt (damn, thats not the right word but I am having a brain fart)noise on the cam. He said from what they can tell the car is just noisy like an old hot rod and if it was 1968 it would sound normal. The techs do not seem to think it will be a problem long term but if it is it will be delt with when the failures start to happen in large numbers...but they do not expect any. Anyone see anything or hear anything similar?

BTW, this is for the "not all the time tick" and not the "death rattle" that I have not heard myself...I just have a tick everynow and then that goes away.

Tick...SPPPPPPPPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNN!
