Well...bad news first. I got my first ding tonight. Not a door ding, and not a scratch. A nice big chip in the top of my car from flying debris. Right now there is bridge construction on US41, a street I travel quite frequently. The bridge is cut down to 2 lanes of opposing direction traffic while a new bridge is constructed on the southbound lane to have 2 seperate bridges for north and southbound. As a truck carrying a load of rock passed over the bridge it hit a sharp bump in the bridge joint and out pops what looked to me like a rock the size of my fist.(probably exagerating) The whole thing happened in slow motion and I could do nothing but cry about it when I saw the mark it left. It's not dented, just chipped fairly badly. But even the tiniest flaw requires immediate attention. I can't have a blemish on the face of automotive perfection. Also I guess what makes it worse is that I have always been able to handle a dent or ding if it was my fault and I can't handle it when it was out of my control. This....just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Good news now. I managed to rope in another Bullitthead and intro him to the club. Gave him the address and I hope he shows. He had Black # 2 thousand something....he wasn't sure. He told me he had tried to catch me twice today already and I finally stopped when I caght a glimpse of him on the local cruise strip. He seems the ford performance enthusiast all around and I think he could offer some helpful tips. He has a 2001 GT modified but he did mention keeping his bullitt strictly stock. We'll see if he shows up.

Sorry for the long post.

LOKnLOD, Thankfuly it was just a rock, consider yourself lucky. Last year a highway overpass collapsed onto a car passing underneath. one person was killed, three seriously injured. The contractor responsible did not have a valid permit and was later found not guilty. Good luck with repair!

Lok n Lod, your realization is all of our worst fears. I can sure sympathize. Don't forget that (at least in dog shows) any honorable wound (any wound that occurs in the heat of the hunt) is deemed not a defect, but rather a merit to the spirit of the beast! These wounds are not permitted to be penalized in dog (or horse) show circuits.

When the true Americans went into battle, the wife would paint the brave's horse and put a circle in the area that he had wounded, so in true Indian style you should have the wife mark the wound. Just kidding, sorry about the wound your pony took.
