There are holes under the GT emblems. Removing them would leave the holes exposed, but if there weren't any, then I know a lot of people would remove them.

Check with a Ford dealer-look at a shop book. I've be told they are only on the cars with a heavy duty double sided tape--you can work under it with teflon coated dental floss--I know Saleen and other tuners remove the GT emblems and install other things so I question the use of holes on the 99 and up Mustangs--don't give up quit yet-

i recently put the v6 emblems on mine. uner the gt is one large indented hole, and one smaller alignment hole directly above it. if you are going to put in the v6 emblem, it is a direct replacement. it is going to take a lot of work though if you don't want anything there at all. hope this'll help

You are putting V6 emblems on your Bullitt? Did I read that correctly? If so, why are you doing that?

I had thought about doing the same thing with mine. The V6 emblems are the "Mustang" emblems.. the Running Horse in front of the red, white and blue bars.

RobertC:
i did this for a couple of reasons. the v6 emblems (running ponies) are more in line with classic mustangs, secondly our cars were mustangs before they were gt's or even bullitts, and thirdly, our cars look like regular v6's with a whole lot of mods anyway, so why not go all out with the sleeper look? and in my opinion, the ponies look better than the gt emblems.

oh, Joe Bullitt, you can go to your local dealer and get the emblems for 20-30 bucks, they are just regular v6 mustang emblems, and make sure you get both the left and right side (the mustang should always run towards the front of the car)

I don't understand that one, but to each his/her own. I like the GT emblem. People have a hard enough time knowing what it is...why make them think it's a regular V6? Not for me.....

I agree. I think the Bullitt should have come without badges and without the horse in the grille, like the movie car. It should have come without a hood scoop also. What would have been really cool is if it had a Saleen hood, then it would have air extractors like the 68. It should have been made only in green. But since my 68 is black I got a black one.

dude the coolest thing i've seen done with the the GT being taken off is puting in some APC side markers they fit great and look cool at night.
Highland green= white light
True blue= blue light
black= green light
hope that helps. i still the GT on mine but have seen many with the APC sidemakers.

My point to not having the GT badges on the fenders has nothing to do with trying to make anyone think it's a V6, or anything else. I just happen to like the smooth, clean look. I must admit I do like the GT better than what is on the V6, and since there are holes in the fender the GT stays
I finally took my horse off the grille that I installed in the car just before Christmas.
I do like the look from a distance now, with the fog lights and plain black grille... my kind of look!
