My '98 Honda Accord (winter beater) has developed a strange problem. A couple of years ago, I replaced the headlight bulbs because one burned out. I put in 55 W Xenon bulbs (the stock ones were 51 W). All of a sudden last Friday, my low-beams on both sides don't work. The high-beams are fine (original bulbs). I checked the Xenon bulbs and the filaments are still intact. I tried replacing one side at a time with an extra replacement Xenon bulb that I have and it doesn't work either. BUT, if I put the one original bulb that I saved back in, it works! I was planning to buy a new set of bulbs tonight to try them, but I'm wondering if it could be the regulator. It it was, could this cause the original 51 W bulbs to work but not 55 W replacements? Any insight would be helpful here.

Thanks.
