I haven't been around here in quite a while. Life happened, I got busy. I did get another Bullitt, so life is good again. Coming here tonight, I'm seeing a lot of new names and even a new Bullitt and realize that I feel like a stranger. On the other hand, all of the years of close friendships and camaraderie came flooding back to mind. The original excitement when the '01s came out, the first few years of life as a Bullitthead with DHG3618 and now DHG2826, gives me some feeling of belonging to something special. That continued even when I was Bullitt-less, but it just wasn't quite the same.

I guess what I'm saying is that I've been in both positions. It's your decision to make, though. I was excited to find a pristine beauty a year ago and jump back into the driver's seat. I had missed that exhaust note and excitement of the drive. If you sell, hopefully she will go to a good home like my first one did. If you decide to keep her, then go for a nice long drive and rekindle the bond between driver and car.

Best of luck to you.

simple process to follow:

1) clear a day in your schedule

2) pick a relaxing, scenic route

3) power down your cell

4) get in the 'stang and drive
Pete, Pete, Pete! You have been thinking about selling your B and even put it up for sale the past 2 years. You need to do what you feel deep inside. You know the good feeling you get when you get behind the wheel of your Bullitt and the smile it puts on your face and all the Bullitt gatherings you like to attend. You will miss all that. But then you have your 68 Replica to do the same for you. How is that coming along?

Sorry to hear about your losing interest in your B.. :(
Step 1: Install a KB

Step 2: Take road to on-ramp

Step 3: WOT on the on on-ramp

Step 4: Take exit ramp

Step 5: Return to Step 2

Repeat until out of gas or adrenaline.

Lol, but in all seriousness, the Bullitt is such a great car, and without a doubt people respect it and love it for what it is. We've all got a little Steve McQueen us behind the wheel of a fast car, but it just feels so much more right if that car is a Bullitt. Just my .02 though.

Ok man I can tell you from my experience and being a recent buyer of a 2001 Bullitt, there is nothing better than getting behind the wheel of my car and just cruising. I got completely ripped off when I bought my car, payed way too much and had to put a tranny in within the first month of owning it but even though im over 15k in debt in just this one car, every cent was worth it! Even if the motor blows tomorrow and I have to invest another 5k in this car, just knowing the history of the Bullitt name and knowing that it will always be part of history keeps me loving my car! It may not be the fastest car on the road but the feel and knowing that you are involved in some special part of automotive history is enough for me personally to always keep my Bullitt! Just so you know, I was a die hard Chevy fan b4 i test drove this car and even with a trashed 1st and 3rd gear syncro when i test drove it, I absolutely fell in love with this car! I owned a Camaro and then a 1987 Custom Deluxe 4x4 which was my dream truck. Ive driven many different cars ranging from Corvettes and Camaros to new mustangs and I still have not found a car that I like driving more than the 2001 Bullitt! Until I do I know i can not part with my Bullitt! Now im even thinking bout selling my truck to get another mustang, 1967, just to have another mustang! I used to swear i would never own a mustang or any ford product! Go figure ill probably only be owning mustangs in a couple weeks! I have only owned this car about 7 months now and I will probably always own a mustang of some kind and most likely will always be a Bullitt! That is just my story man and I hope it helps rekindle the feelings you first got when you got behind the wheel of your Bullitt! Good luck man and just do what you know you will be happy with!

Owning any other car is just 'Any other car'
but a 2001 Bullitt is so different.

I know how you feel sometimes but here I am, I have not driven my car for ages and I am sitting here
watching it snowing, so no chance of getting the car out any time soon......

You will do what you see best but I hope you hang around...

After having a Bullitt for almost 6 years it was replaced 1 1/2 years ago with another stang. Really don't miss the Bullitt at all, but I understand that it is just a car, which is not very important to me. I do understand losing interest in a car which is what happened to me with my street rod of 16 years, one day I just said it is for sale and sold it. Had a lot of blood and sweat in that ride, but the Bullitt was the only car purchased by me for a very special personal reason.
in my opinion , the fact that you need convincing is pretty telling...
if it ain't "in you" anymore , then it isn't....period
do as everyone has suggested , take a drive , wash and wax her, maybe een go to a cruise or car show... if nothing is there, like in any type of relationship , its probably best and time to move on...
Well if its time to sell then its time...... BUT; Like Kay always says, "Once it's gone it gone forever".... That has kept me frorm putting a many a car on the Market.... I regret letting my CVPI go.... I see it all the time and makes me sad that its not mine any more

Hello Pete,

I just took the time to read "ALL-the-Post" here replying to your (Comment).

I looked at Your Profile and there is No-Info. there like Age, Your Interest, and

so on. So it is going to be a little difficult for Me Personally to give You some

Concrete Reason/Reasons NOT to get Rid of, or Dump-the-Bullitt Mustang.

Somebody give me a very good reason beside what reasons have been posted thoughout the many years being here on IMBOC

But heck I'll give You this 1-Reason that comes to My-Mind !!!!!!!!!

Read this Thread and Watch the Video, Please.............

http://www.imboc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=163477&highlight=collin+shows+tigerhonaker+how

Pete, where else in the World can You possibly go and have (Truly-Crazy-Nut-Cases)

like that to Hang-Out-With and enjoy each others company ????????????????

IMO (In-My-Opinion) No-Where !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Pal, that is My Best Shot as to an Honest reply to Your Comment.......

That is Collin aka "Cochese", a 2001 Bullitt Owner and Terry aka (tigerhonaker)

a 2008 Bullitt Owner having some FUN with Their Bullitt Mustangs...........

I will leave Steve McQueen and the Movie Bullitt 40-Yrs. ago out of this.

The best and most Fun I think a Gal or Guy can have is FRIENDS and

IMHO (In-My-Honest-Opinion) YOU will find them here on IMBOC, and to be here with ALL

of US it requires for the most part to Have and Own a 2001-2008-2009 Bullitt Mustang.

Well, Pete, how did I do as far as a Real Reason to KEEP Your-2001 Bullitt Mustang ??

Best Wishes,

Terry Honaker (tigerhonaker)

:clap2: Right on, Terry. Friendship is what it's all about (but don't be leaving McQueen out of this or I'll get mad!)
I have owned a mustang since I was 16 and all my friends had muscle cars and 30 years later I now have 5 mustangs and all my friends still have muscle cars..we go on cruises and to shows and on road trips almost every weekend from may till october...I live and breathe mustangs...if you have to get talked into keeping a car then you dont want it...take the 10 grand its worth and move on...I have been to alot of car events in washington this year and bullitt participation has been pathetic..or like soundgarden used to say on the old Seattle show Almost Live...LAME
Mr. Stangman,

You have come to the wrong place.

We love our Bullitt Mustangs, the Steve McQ connection and all of that and everybody here will hate to "see you go".

What we love most is driving the darn car and sharing time [ on line and off] with fellow Bullittheads.

Get in her , go for an drive and make sure you run her like a race horse.

When you get back you'll start writing a for sale ad or condider yourself a lucky guy to own a B.

Either way - don't go away . You are always a friend here if you own , owned or just like our special cars.

Mod it! That always keeps me interested. Researching, planning, buying, and installing modifications always kept me excited.
Even if, and it's a big unlikely if, the freindships and contacts on this board ever lost their appeal to me, this video alone wuold be enough to keep my interest in #0005....:dhg01:

I say keep it and renew the friendship, take it for a long drive and enjoy the sound of it. :bigguns:
