I need to replace my hood latch release as the plastic housing just past the interior pull tab has broken. The plastic panel which needs to be removed to access it appears to be held in place by just one plastic tab; however when I attempt to pull it out with my fingers, it won't budge. I am hesitant to pull on it with pliers as I think I'll wreck it. Does anyone have a suggestion on removing the plastic tab? It's depicted in the lower left corner of the attached photo.

Thanks

Paul

That tab does not need to be removed for the task. Though it will make it easier. Swapped mine out last year and left panel in place.

the kick panel should come out..helps with the R&R. held in by a long push pin and the door sill plate. then you should be able to get it out pretty easy.

Push pin removal

Thank you both for your responses. Specifically in regard to the push pin, I pulled with my fingers and it would not pull out. I was wondering if you have any advise on how to remove the push pin.

Thanks
