The org, Gone in 60 sec Mustang is still around. But since I restored a 73 Mach1, I would like to pick the car a part. The only part on the outside of the car that was 73 vintage was the grill. The car in the movie had 71-72 frt bumper, and lower splash pan. 73's did not have the turn signals below the Frt bumper. The bumper wasn't the 5 mile per hour bumper that 73's used. The gas cap was a flip open gas cap used on the 71 mustangs not 73's. They were against the law in 73.
Also on the web site they say the engine used was 351W. But in 1973 the 351W wasn't offered on the engine line up. I think that it must be a miss print, Although I could be wrong. The reason I believe it was of the 351 Cleveland engine family was, as us old guy's remember the Cleveland was the small block Engine of cloice for Ford guy's back in 1974. NO ONE wanted a 351W No parts, No after Market, Nothing!
I still enjoy the movie I've seen it bunches. I love the way it ripps around those corners. Kind've reminds me Of my Mach 1.
It was also cool to see the Movie as the only Ford lover Kid on my Block. All my Chevy friends were really jealous..... Made up for all those Ratt stories.
