What kind of internet connection do you have? Just curious

I have Comcast cable after the recent changeover from @HOME. Gone too, is my fast line speed of 2000+ kbps down. I am hovering at around 1100kbps now. Upload has improved, from mids 70's to 120kbps. It appears that Comcast will eventually sell their service in tiers, bronze, silver and gold. This must be a taste of what silver will be like

Oh well. Beats the hell out of the 26.4 connection I had before it

I've run the entire gamut..

I now have Cable from AT&T and it's pretty good. Not too many complaints yet.
I've had.. every kind of modem from 400baud on up.. DSL (S and A), but the most fun was the Dual Channel ISDN. It was quirky, it was expensive, but dammit it was faster than 56k!.. BTW anyone want to buy a US Robotics PCI dual channel ISDN card? I'll sell it cheap!

DSL 256K from my local telephone co. although my network card is acting up again so I had to dial up today at 56K. I have replaced my network card once already and now it seems to be malfunctioning again. Ain't technology wonderful?

DSL 1.5 down 384 up.

I will be switching to a cable modem in about 2 weeks. I have decided to do away with my land line completly! Thats right no "home phone". I have a mobile that is paid by my company (Nokia) and my wife has a mobile with more than enough minutes for her use. I should save almost $50/month and not ever have to deal with SBC, MCI, ATT, or any other telco again.. except for VoiceStream on my wifes account.

Oh boy, I remember the days of 24.6 connections. Even with a 56k modem.
I have had cable for the last 2 years here at home, and the last year I lived in Georgia.

Bullittbro, it may be pronounced as nipper, but it’s NIPR as in NIPERNet.
