How many members have some of the red coating coming off their brake calipers?

Bamabulit and I ran into each other yesterday and he noticed that he is loosing the coating on one of his rear calipers. I'm sure Ford will warranty this (i hope). Bama only has 1300 miles on his car. I have almost 10,000 and no coating problems.

I have Rock chips on all my calipers, but that's about it.
The paint on the calipers is very fragile. I have scratched mine taking wheels on and off. It seems to be holding up from a heat standpiont but will scratch very easily.

Wow...I don't like hearing this kind of thing...so far mine are good....
Good to go here on #344! She has almost 9,000 miles on her now and no problems whatsoever!!
# 648 is holding up fine on the caliper paint
I have only noticed one paint chip on mine. I appears to me to have been caused by road debris. I have about 8000 miles on my Bullitt.
No probs yet at 4100 miles, but the fronts have obvious touch up spots on them.
1Nasty... don't understand myself. It seems to scratch very easily on my car.

I'm even considering getting a set of Cobra calipers and quick disconnect brake lines so I can swap them over when I put the race wheels on the car for a track session. This way, I preserve the paint on the originals.

No paint issues in 2276, yet. Just rolled 2200 miles.
Could be they weren't clean before they were painted at the factory. Check your dealer...this was a selling feature and should be rectified to assure a satisfied customer
one of mine has a chip also and it only has 1500 miles.
So, I am wondering..I don't want to p*ss off my dealer..as I have been there twice for problems already. I too have a big chip out of mine..but it doesn't seem to be from a rock or anything. Is that powder coating garenteed for sure?
I pointed it out to my dealer and they told me my new caliper was on order....no problem!
I think I have a great dealership so far!!
Both rears have chips, fronts are fine so far. With only 2800 miles
#797 has 2 chips in the front left caliper and an obvious touch up on the right front thats about 1/2 inch round. It bothers me.
I figured an item such as these to be powdercoated. I painted powdercoating for about a year and a half and if applied correctly, is tough as nails and if not is still very tough. I may hit up the dealer this week to see if anything can be done as far as a replacement.

For at least the first year, Bullitt1853, anything painted is covered under warranty. Get it taken care of now, because after a year, they'll just say, Tough darts!
My original right front caliper had no chips,it just didnt have a running horse logo!My new caliper has the running horse logo, but a massive amount of chips, dings, and dents.I was there when the tech installed it,it was messed up right out of the box.Not by improper installation.Order another, maybe the third time will be the charm.
Hey, thanks for the info..took 1853 to the dealer..and they are on order. Thanks again.
