When did Star Wars come out? I remember my buddy picking me up to go see it in his dark green '67 fastback, 302. He had the Cragers with the dark centers (real magnesium?) The movie started in 12 minutes and we were 20 miles away, most of it highway, in upstate New York. We actually were at Lake George and had to get to Glens Falls (Queensbury). We made it in 12 minutes. It was a cool, flat-out ride. I'll never forget his first 'stang. After the movie, we were so wound up we had to blast back home - except this time we had a new name for flat-out flooring it.....Hyperspace. A term equated with time machine science.
Fast forward .... I e-mailed my buddy a photo of the Bullitt after it appeared at Chicago last year. Too cool, I added, I hope they build it.
Wouldn't you know it, they actually build it, and I actually end up with one. Looks like we really did hit hyperspace! Fortunately, this time machine dropped me right back where I want to be.
