I have a question for everyone..On my id tag on my rear-end says 3.27 8.5(which usually means the size of the ring gear) does anyone elses have this or does it show 3.27 8.8?? Please help..

I doubt anyone has actually looked......I haven't. I guess you will have to wait until a few Bullitheads crawl under the car to look.

According to Ford it should be an 8.8 rear end. Also there have been several Bullitt already mod'd to 3.73 or 4.10 gears. I am sure the tag is either a mistake or perhaps means something entirely different.

Well my tag had 3.27L for limited slip. I don't recall the 8.5,but I wouldn't worry about that,it is an 8.8 diameter ring gear. Guess I need to punch up a new tag that reads 3.73L !!

OK, I looked and mine says 3L27 88.

I know what the tag means, I just want to know if anyone elses has the 8.5 on the tag.. I have never even heard of this size ring gear. They make a 7.5 ring gear for the v6 cars..
