The first edition was 1989, the second edition was 1995. Has anyone heard or seen a recent new edition of this fact filled book by Peter C. Sessler? I hope there is and it would be WAY cool if the Bullitt was in it!

sorry PY but amazon just lists the 95 edition. there is a 'new' history of the Mustang book just out and it does include the Bullitt. I'll post the name of the book and author when I get home tonight.

Sc93, if you are referring to the "Ultimate Mustang" book that has our Bullitt, I do have it already...nice book. Thanks for checking on the "Illustrated Mustang Buyer's Guide"

PY--ha!! trying to out guess me are we??? Nope not the book-Covert's book pales by comparison as well as the other 20 plus Mustang books I have. This is a great book-covers every year-year by year with facts and production figures--only negative is lack of photos-now they have lots of photos but say for 1966 they only have photos of the Mustangs in red-fastback, convertible and coupe-all red and photos of the interior show just red--including a photo of the 'deluxe interior' otherwise know as "Pony interior". Now instead of 4 pages devoted to the 66 they should have had 40 and covered all interior and exterior colors. Under facts and figures they list all the engine options, paint code numbers etc. Of the 4 pages-2 are solid numbers. After the Mustang section-with 2001 being last--no production numbers listed for 2001 -books lists as unknow at time of press but estimates Bullitts at 5,000--close guess. There is one page of photos of the Bullitt-green car, dash, stick shift, and gas cap--all the key items but the seats and brakes.

After the standard Mustangs there is a section on the Shelby's-again each year and the SVT Cobras starting in 93 and then on to Saleens, again each year with facts an figures and photos. The only thing I would have liked would have been a secion on Roush and the ultrarare special editions like the McLaren from the late 80's.

This book blows away Covert's Ultimate Mustang book but you need to have Covert's as it includes things not in this one-such as info and photos of the Trans Am Mustangs etc. I have yet to find the true "ultimate' Mustang book as it would run 500 pages and cost $125 and not publisher is yet willing to do such a thing.

Author and title-well somebody couldn't wait and tried to out guess me. So I'll just list that stuff tomorrow, maybe, if I remember.

PY--check out your locl major chain bookstore for: Brad Bowling, "standard catalogue of Mustang 1964-2001". Krause Publications. 8 1/2 x 11 Paperback. $24.95 or $17 and change plus shipping from Amazon. You really need to have this on your shelf next to Covert's book.
