Finaly got rid of those spotted headlight lenses. Picked them up from the dealer and popped them right in! Noticed a plastic shim on pass. side to even up the bottom gap. Oh,and they list for $286.00 apiece! Ford bought these though.

They let you do your own work? I know if I went to the dealer to complain about the headlight assemblies being spotted, they'd want me to leave the car. No way would they every just exchange the parts for me! I’d pay shipping if I could find a dealer that would just exchange the defective parts and let me change them.

Well,I showed the service manager the problem. They ordered up the parts. I got a card in the mail that they were in,and set up an appointment. Called the service guy,and asked if I could put them in,said sure, just come by and pick them up! They are very easy to switch out,and don't have to take my chances with collateral damage in the dealer shop......Like my other Bullitt friend did at same dealership! They scratched his paint making a minor adjustment!!

My passenger's side highlight is spotted again (replaced by dealer 3 times) and the driver's side just spotted a week ago. Does anybody know for sure if Ford has fixed the problem. Before I go back to the dealer for a forth time I want to make sure Ford is shipping highlights that have been fixed. Thanks.

Well I will keep a eye on these for a while. They have vent tubes on the back and I checked these for being clear. Maybe it is a gassing problem of the adhesive they use to glue the lense onto the body. Maybe it reacts with the heat from the lights? Who knows?

How long does it take to replace both? What tools do you need? - I've got both on order, and am also worried about the dealer scratching the paint. Thanks.
To change the headlight assemblies, open hood, and look for the two flat spring pins, they are black in color. Grap the pin and pull upward,a pair of pliers carefully used may help,as they can be a bit tight. Pull the two pins per light. Light can now be pulled out, then disconnect wiring harness from bulbs. I put a little grease on the pins to make reassembly a bit easier.
