Well, I found out today from my Mustang Club that the 2003 International Mustang Car Show will be held in Missoula, Mt. instead of Spokane, Wa like we planned and wanted so desperately! What a dissapointment! We have the perfect park here and the cars could be parked on the grass, and we have an amusement park off of the highway that the Mustangs could have taken a cruise one day to over to the race track there for a track day. We had a Motel that was going to reserve the whole motel for just the Stangers that would enter there cars here for the show. They were going to provide cheaper rooms and real breakfasts, and a barbecue one night and a band!

It is a long story of why we lost it to Missoula so I won't go into the politics of it, but it is a great dissapointment to all the members here that have worked on this show for over 2 years now trying to get it in Spokane for 2003. We were 95% sure that we would get it here in 2003. Last year it was in Bozeman, Montana. Then the following year, 2002, this summer, it will be in Vancouver, Canada. One year it is in Canada, and then the next in the USA, and then Canada, then the USA again, and so on......

I can understand the disappointment you must feel Vicki. I would have loved an excuse to go to Spokane. Never been there!
However, I must say I have been to Missoula and it is beautiful! I look forward to going there too!

Vicki, MCA is desperate for clubs in the west to sponsor MCA shows. Why not apply for your club to have an MCA sponsored show instead. Bill Johnson MCA president is from Seattle.
There is a lady in Tuscon on the MCA Board of Directors, Laurie Slawson who also is adamant about MCA holding more Western shows. MCA appointed her to assist the Western Clubs. I'd be glad to get you her email if you want her assistance too.

Joyce, Thanks you so much for all that information! I will take it to the club meeting Tuesday night and see what everyone thinks and says about it. I will get with you if I need after that.....

Vicky--I know several Mustanger's who would travel north from California to attend an MCA show in Spokane. Good luck with the presenting the idea to your club--I would like to see Spokane again. Last time I was there was 1970- I drove up in a 66 coupe (I was 13 and planted in the back seat).

I would have voted for Spokane, but no one asked me. Hopefully I'll be back in time for the show, in 2003. I hear your Zags are doing pretty good though.

Joyce, I went to our club meeting last night and I did not get a chance to talk to anyone about the MCA. It was brought up, though, at the meeting if we would like to see into getting a meet here! I didn't even have to mention it. I will get with the guys in charge of that and see if they need any names or numbers. I will get with you on that! Thanks! (for July of 2003 they are shooting for).

Epperstang Joyce, Our club board is going to contact Laurie and see about getting a MCA show here for 2003! The pres mentioned about 3 types of shows. Regional, national, and Grand National. I guess you have to start out with Regional and work up? We have the perfect place for a show here too. There is an amusement park about 1/2 hr. drive from here and it has a drag strip there too! I will keep you posted.
