I guess I'm going to have to face the facts....#4841 is going to turn over 1,000 miles and there's nothing I can do. LOL I had to take two trips to the eye doctor this past weekend (50 mile round trip) so now I'm up to exactly 950 miles.....I guess I wanted to keep her under 1,000 forever...but I've had her over 4 months...time to moooove on!

LOL I guess you're right. If I can handle 30 (will be 32 on April 20th), I should be able to handle turning over to 1,000 miles....but, I dunno....this is tougher on me......heehee

Ya, at first thought, I was wishing I had those low miles on mine, but then I realized if that were true, I would’ve missed out on all the enjoyment of driving the Bullitt. I kind of feel sorry for you guys who are so paranoid about putting on the miles. If, in fact, that is the case. I can almost understand someone storing it for a possible long-term investment.

First, it was the first 1k. Next it was 10K. I did find myself avoiding any unnecessary driving when I was approaching the 10k milestone. But, now that I’ve turned it, it’s like whole new feeling. Next milestone is 20k!

With all that said, I do plan on getting a more economical, kids friendly, Monday thru Thursday car. But I’m doing this mainly to avoid driving my Bullitt in the bad weather, to keep up good relations with my kids. My kids like the Bullitt, but hate the restrictions imposed on them while riding in it. They simple cannot get in or out of it, without creating a scuffmark somewhere.

Dona, I can appreciate what you are going through. We have our Bullitt in winter storage and have 1,526 miles on it. When it comes out of winter storage..... do I drive it or just let it be a garage queen?

Then we decided, what is the point in keeping it and not driving it. Sure, it might be worth a lot more with very few miles on it at some point in the future but why save it so some guy can buy it 10 years from now and say he got a car with very few miles. Hey! I bought it for me, now him! My wife and I want the driving fun for ourselves, so why save it for some other guy down the road. So, we are gonna get out and drive it! Not every day mind you, but whenever we can. And in 10 years if it has 300,000 miles on it..... then I had 300,000 miles of fun fun fun fun.

Well, there's the aspect of wanting to keep your baby pristine forever, but I figure I didn't spend a fortune to keep my baby locked up and under wraps...life is too short to not enjoy what you have right now...3230 is 6 months old w/12,000 miles...Best girl friend I ever had...can't keep out of her!!!! I'm gonna use her for what she was intended...enjoy her on the open road. My poor F350 is feeling mighty neglected though (she's my wife!)

I think a couple of you might be jumping to some conclusions....while yes, it's hard to turn over to that first 1,000 miles...it's NOT because I don't want to drive it or am afraid to drive it, or WHATEVER you may think...it's just that...well, I don't work, I don't have anywhere really I HAVE to go and when I go to the grocery store, well, it's a MILE away, same with Walmart...some days, I just make up some place to go, so I can drive it....but everything is SO dang close, I can't help it!! Plus, my "days" are your "nights" which means, when it's daylight (and my favorite driving time) I'm sleeping!!! It's really not as fun driving around in the dark when you have nowhere you need to go. My favorite time to drive is a sunny afternoon...but it's wintertime and there aren't too many of them right now!

Almost 5 months for me and 5000 miles. 50 miles per day to and from work in my daily driven Bullitt. Worth every penny.

Dona, you need to find more reasons to drive!

Dona, why do you sleep during the day? Cause that is when your hubby sleeps? Same with me, tho. I live close to everything too. But we have taken Bullette on a couple of trips and she seems to LOVE to cruise at 90 mph the best! (Mind you, the radar detector is in the ON postition)!

Hey Vicki!

Yes, that's why I sleep during the day. Hubby works the night shift and I started on the same schedule as him by accident. I had just moved here and one whole room of his house contained nothing but huge boxes of my stuff. So, one night I vowed to work on putting it away until it was done. Well, I finished about the time hubby rolled in at 8am and I was tired!! But, I managed to say awake a few more hours and when we went to bed that day, I started on the schedule and have kept it...4 years ago now.

I love it! It's great to have mornings and early afternoons free, do shopping, not a lot of crowds, etc. I never thought I'd like it, but I really wouldn't trade it for a day shift now!

I KNOW I need to find more reasons to drive and I did over the weekend...to the eye doctor!! When warmer weather comes, I'll take her out more, you can count on that!

When I bought my Bullitt the idea was to not drive it every day. Our family has 4 drivers and 5 cars so there's no need to drive the Bullitt every day. But every time I left the house, guess which car I took? That's right, the Bullitt! It's just too much fun to leave it at home. The only time I would drive one of the other cars, before I stored it for the winter, was when I needed more passenger or cargo room. My car has 8500 miles on it now but, hey, I'm having the time of my life. I admire those of you with the self-restraint to NOT drive yours all the time.
