Has anyone jacked there Bullitt by the factory frame connectors. On my old Mustang I had a performance shop install frame connectors with jacking rails. The factory frame connectors do not have this, can we jack the side up to swap out tires without the frame connectors warping or disfiguring in anyway. :???:

MustangMan, don't jack on the connectors.
I thought I saw a post on this a long time
ago and somebody had bent theirs. I have
looked at the thickness of the metal at the
ends of the connectors and it doesn't look
to sturdy for jacking.

The post your refering to I think was dealing with the front K memeber. I read where someone jacked the front of there car from it and it bent. Of course it could be a completely different thread. What to do. I want to leave the factory ones in place, or do I swap them for sturdy connectors with jacking rails? Any thoughts.

MustangMan, you are correct, it was the K
member that bent. I found the thread.

Bullitt220, I jack it in the notches that are
shown in the owner's manual for changing a
flat tire.

This is a little off the original thread but you guys got me thinking about it so I wanted to throw this out; I’ve been jacking the front of my Bullitt and my other third generation Mustangs up using the K member for 10 years. To my knowledge the K members have been fine. Did someone really bend theirs doing this? I searched the forms looking for the thread PY referred to but I must not have the “touch” for searches. Can you help me out here?

Hank, it is in Mechanical Issues under "Front Jacking". Sorry I didn't say that earlier.

Thanks PY

Not only did that alleviate my fears, in the thread the person that warped theirs said they thought it was only cosmetic, but there was a link to Eastwood for a replacement rubber pad for floor jacks. I use a small block of wood on mine and think I’ll get the pad if it’ll fit my jack.

Just where are you benders jacking? I've jacked mine up a good 12-15 time by the sub-frames. no bend here. You can't do it where the big gap is.. you need to do it where the frame meets the rail. You can life the entire side of the car without "tweekage".
Granted most everyone would feel better doing so with heavy-duty ones welded in.
