Welcome to the site Andy!
I hope you found the updated fill level for the Tremec 3650,Which is what you have. They changed it to UNDER the fill plug level as at the fill level like most will cause shifting issues.golkhl2094 said:Just did the first oil change on my HG 2094, car has 564.3 miles and I switched it over to Mobil 1 oil and Mobil 1 filter. While I was under there, I drained the transmission and refilled it Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. Oil change was easy, other than the oil filter having been put on by king kong at the factory! Transmission was a pain in the butt, hard to get to the fill hole, and a messy process as my pump did not screw onto the Mobil 1 bottle. Only other mods so far are the lower grille inserts, and a shorty antenna. Will get some pics up soon.

Good post Charlie. It is very likley that putting sythetic oil in the transmission would void the transmission warranty. These transmissions are touchy enough that putting other fluid than is recommended is asking for trouble.cdynaco said:From p.268 of the Owners Manual.pdf:
Use of a non-approved automatic transmission fluid may cause internal transmission component damage and void the warranty.
Do not use supplemental transmission fluid additives, treatments or cleaning agents. The use of these materials may affect transmission operation and result in damage to internal transmission components.
Checking and adding manual transmission fluid (if equipped)
1. Clean the filler plug.
2. Remove the filler plug and inspect the fluid level.
3. Note: There are two different manual transmissions used in this vehicle and they have different fluid levels.
For vehicles equipped with a V6 engine the correct manual transmission fill level is at the lower edge of the filler hole.
For vehicles equipped with a V8 engine the correct manual transmission fill level is 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) below the edge of the filler hole.
Unfortunately, the Tremac 3650 Manual.pdf says fill to the lower edge of the filler hole and is in error.
The Bullitt Mustang was Built by Ford and I will take it to them per their Guidelines.onefastbob said:Good post Charlie. So which one are you taking to be correct?cdynaco said:... For vehicles equipped with a V8 engine the correct manual transmission fill level is 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) below the edge of the filler hole.
