I just bought a C&L MAF for #3651. The fellow at C&L was very helpful. I told him about our club and he was unaware of it. He offered me a discount and free shipping when I asked if he could give us a discount. I told him we have about 1000 members and many, if not most of us are modifying our vehicles. He said that he could do a group buy if we liked if someone would want to set such a thing up. He is sending me 2 different calibrations. One is the stock calibration the other is a leaner calibration since he claims that the few Bullitt owners he has talked to seem to think the Bullitt comes from the factory a bit rich in fuel/air mixture. He has asked me to try the leaner calibration and to see if I get a check engine light. If not then this will give more HP than stock calibration. Once I get the thing installed (should be in a couple weeks) I will give you my SOTP impression. He has asked me to get back with him as to whether this leaner setting works without giving a check engine light. If it does the stock calibration will work fine he said.

Sorry...Yes, 80mm MAF kit, the total was $269. Normally $289 ($20 off and free shipping).

I'm going under an assumption here; that being that the two calibrations that you're receiving will be one BLACk color coded sample tube and one ORANGE color coded sample tube.

I originally had the BLACK tube and saw only a slight AVERAGE gain in Horsepower (0.5 RWHP). However the dyno was not done in a scientific manner as it was performed on a different day than my baseline and the atmospheric conditions were not as good. The software doesn't totally correct for conditions, it does come close.

I called C&L and explained the situation and they sent me the ORANGE sample tube which was purely experimental at the time. I changed to the ORANGE tube and the SOTP dyno registered the difference as well as the mph indication through my test quarter.

I have had absolutely no problems running either sample tube, although the BLACK one did result in a RICHER condition than the stock MAF. Idle has been smooth as stock if not even better. The SES LIGHT has NOT come on and I'm running more mods now, see sig. Driveability is great, sound is awesome.

The C&L seems to gain more value as you further modify the car for performance. I like my C&L very much. I've run several PRO-M units in the past on an '89 LX 5.0 and they worked equally as well.

Bottom line is purchase whichever you like and I think you'll be satisfied with the result as long as you don't expect too much, too soon.
