Personally, I use the stock Factory Ford Racing air filter. I just don't really like the oiled filter because if used improperly, it can cause damage. I have yet to see any reason to go with the K&N.

I do use a K&N on my Ranger. Only because that was on the truck when I purchased it. I do clean and oil that filter regularly. This truck is driven a lot (well over 300,000 miles) so K&N may be worthwhile in this case but I would, most likely, not purchased one if it was not on it when I bought the truck.

As far a Green Filter. I have considered that several times but mostly for the color (green) to go with my Green Bullitt. I do not think it has any performance advantage over the Ford Racing filter so it would just be for looks. But, since I have several stock Ford Racing filters in my garage, I will just "play it safe" and stay with what I have.

I'm with Jack. An engine can only suck in X number of cubic feet of air per minute. Any good filter will do the job. The K&N or Green may have an advantage when dirty, but I'll stick to the Ford filters.

just ordered the green filter for my daughter's fiesta that I put a cold air kit on. will see. I have used the K$N and Amsoil filter, both with no issues. I never clean them myself...don't want to create an issue for myself by over oiling or under oiling so just easier to replace.

I use the GREEN filter. I have 2. I swap them every 10K or 6 months or just before a car show. Lots of bugs in FL.
When swapping, I wash, dry overnight and oil the used filter. Then put it upright in a plastic bag and it sits until the next swap. Might turn it (like a good bottle of wine) in between. The excess oil weeps off. Yes, it is very easy to put too much oil on the filter.
Have no data whether the Green re-usable or Ford disposable gives better performance.
Why do I use the Green filter. Because when the hood is open at a car show, I have a clean green filter each time. Nice subtle bling. The Ford filter looks dirty even when new. Appearance matters when judged.
Have had NO issues with excess oil on MAF.
IMHO, problems (still wet when oiling, putting to much oil on) can arise when trying to maintain 1 re-useable filter in just an afternoon. That is why I rotate 2.
